Why Equipment Slots Matter

Your fighter has 3 swords, 2 shields, and 5 rings in their inventory. But which ones are they actually wearing? When combat starts, it matters.

Equipment slots give you a visual loadout showing exactly what's equipped vs. what's just being carried. No more "wait, which ring am I wearing?" mid-session.

Custom Equipment Slots

Need a slot that doesn't exist in the standard list? Add custom slots for:

  • Prosthetics: "Prosthetic Arm", "Mechanical Eye"
  • Class features: "Bonded Item" (Wizard), "Holy Symbol" (Cleric)
  • Companion gear: "Familiar Collar", "Mount Barding"
  • System-specific: "Eidolon Link" (Summoner), "Vestige" (Binder)

Custom slots appear below the standard system slots and work exactly the same way.

Tips and Tricks

  • Track attunement items (5e): Most attunement items go in specific slots. Seeing all your equipped attunement items at a glance helps track your 3-slot limit.
  • Combat readiness: Keep frequently-swapped items (like weapons) easy to find. The equipment panel shows your current loadout instantly.
  • Backpack slot: Use this for your Bag of Holding or Handy Haversack. Shows at a glance what's your "main" storage container.
  • Quick-swap for situations: Heading into a social encounter? Unequip armor and weapons. The panel makes it easy to see and track.
