Everything you need to know about tracking loot for your TTRPG campaigns
Yes, completely free forever. No credit card required, no hidden fees, no premium tiers. We believe every GM should have access to great tools.
We support D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e, and Pathfinder 1e with system-specific features like attunement tracking (5e), bulk calculation (PF2e), rune management (PF2e), and caster levels (PF1e).
Yes, you'll need a free account to save your campaign data. Sign up with email or Google in under 2 minutes.
Yes! Use our demo mode to explore all features with pre-loaded Fellowship of the Ring characters. No account needed for the demo.
Extract runes from magic items into runestones with one click. Apply potency, striking, resilient, and property runes to weapons and armor. Prices and item levels update automatically. The system validates that you can't stack potency runes and ensures compatibility.
Hide items on the loot tab to prevent spoilers for players. All item details (name, value, stats, icons) get blurred. Hidden state persists across sessions and devices, and auto-reveals when you assign the item to a player.
Yes! Create containers like backpacks, bags of holding, or treasure chests. Rename them inline, reorder with up/down arrows, and transfer items between containers. Each player gets a default 'Carried' container that can't be deleted.
Yes! Pathfinder 2e tracks bulk per character with a visual X/10 display and color-coded warnings (green under 5, yellow at 5-9, red at 10+). Pathfinder 1e now has full weight tracking with encumbrance levels based on STR score. D&D 5e doesn't have built-in encumbrance tracking (most tables don't use it).
Yes! Search the D&D 5e SRD or Archives of Nethys (PF1e/PF2e) directly from the app. Item data, prices, bulk, levels, and other stats auto-populate.
The DM Tab is a dedicated prep area where Dungeon Masters can create 'Hoards' - pre-built collections of loot for upcoming encounters. Add items before your session using the full API search, then transfer them to the party's incoming loot with one click during play.
When creating items, mark them as 'unidentified' and provide a fake name. Players will see the fake name (e.g., 'Rusty Sword') while DMs see the real name (e.g., 'Flame Tongue'). Click 'Reveal' when the item is identified to show the true identity to everyone.
Yes! Use the Hide/Reveal feature on the Loot tab. Hidden items appear completely blurred to players but remain fully visible to the DM. Items auto-reveal when assigned to a player, or you can reveal them manually.
Tags you can add to items that only you (the DM) can see. Use them to mark items as 'cursed,' 'plot-relevant,' 'homebrew,' or any custom category. Players never see these tags, even after items are assigned to them.
Use the DM Tab to create a Hoard for each encounter or location. Add items using API search or manual entry. During the session, open the Hoard and click 'Move to Incoming' to transfer all items to the party's loot tab instantly.
Each game system has specific equipment slots (D&D 5e: 13 slots, PF2e: 14 slots, PF1e: 17 slots). Drag items to slots to equip them, or use the equip button. The equipment panel shows your character's current loadout at a glance.
Yes! Add custom slots for unique items like prosthetics, bonded items, or system-specific gear. Custom slots appear below the standard system slots.
Create containers like Backpack, Bag of Holding, or Saddlebags to organize inventory. Rename containers inline with Enter/Escape, reorder them with arrows, and transfer items between them. The default 'Carried' container can't be deleted.
Unlimited. Create as many player characters as you need for your table.
Currently, D20 Loot Tracker is GM-facing. Players can't log in directly, but you can share your screen or use a second device. Multi-user player access is on the roadmap.
Split gold evenly across all players (plus party fund if enabled) with one click. The system handles decimal precision so no one loses copper pieces to rounding errors.
A shared gold pool separate from individual player gold. Enable it in campaign settings. You can choose whether the party fund gets a share when distributing gold.
Yes! The web app is fully responsive and works on phones, tablets, and desktops. We also have a native Android app (iOS coming soon).
Yes. All data is encrypted and stored securely on Supabase (enterprise-grade database). We never sell your data and you can export or delete it anytime.
Not currently. D20 Loot Tracker requires an internet connection for real-time sync. Offline mode is being considered for future updates.
CSV/JSON export is on the roadmap. For now, you can view and copy your transaction history and master log.
Not yet. If you're interested in API access for integrations (Discord bots, VTT modules, etc.), let us know on Discord!
Yes. D20 Loot Tracker is free forever for GMs and players. We may add optional premium features in the future, but core functionality will always be free.
Currently we don't - this is a passion project for the TTRPG community. Future monetization might include optional features like premium integrations or advanced analytics, but the core tracker will always be free.
Not yet, but we appreciate the sentiment! The best way to support us is to share D20 Loot Tracker with your gaming group and provide feedback on Discord.

No. PF2e rules allow only one potency rune per item. The tracker validates this - if you try to apply a +1 rune to a weapon with +2, you'll get an error.
Property runes stay on the item by default. You can choose which runes to extract individually or use 'Extract All' to remove everything.
No. Extracted runestones are set to 0 bulk automatically (they're Light bulk in rules, which is negligible for inventory tracking).
The system adds up bulk from all items a character is carrying (including items in their containers). L (Light) items count as 0.1 bulk. You'll see a visual X/10 display with color-coded encumbrance warnings - green when you're fine, yellow when encumbered, red when over maximum.
